Privacy Policy

Overview
Hickerson Consulting Group (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://hickerson.co (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and what we do — and don’t do — with it. We keep this simple because your privacy matters and because we don’t have any reason to complicate it.
Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you provide directly. If you fill out a contact form, book a consultation call, or email us, we receive whatever you choose to share — typically your name, email address, company, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to you and to provide the services you’ve requested.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect standard usage data when you visit: pages viewed, time on site, referring URL, browser type, device type, and approximate location (city/country level). This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies, primarily via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
This Site uses cookies and tracking pixels to understand how visitors use it and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. Specifically:
- Google Tag Manager (GTM). We use GTM to manage and deploy tracking scripts. GTM itself does not collect personal data, but it may load other tags that do (such as Google Analytics).
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic and user behavior in aggregate. Data collected is anonymized to the extent possible and governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors.
- Advertising pixels. We may use advertising measurement pixels (such as those from Google Ads, Meta/Facebook, or LinkedIn) to understand which marketing channels drive traffic to the Site. These pixels track whether you visited the Site after seeing or clicking an ad. We use this data only for campaign measurement and optimization — not to build profiles on you or target you with ads on behalf of third parties.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and deliver the services you’ve requested
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- Measure the performance of our own marketing and advertising
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that significantly affect you, and we do not engage in behavioral advertising targeting aimed at you personally based on your browsing activity outside this Site.
What We Don’t Do
To be direct about it:
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
- We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
- We do not rent or trade email lists.
- We do not combine your contact information with behavioral tracking data to build advertising profiles.
- We do not use your data to retarget you with ads across other websites or platforms on behalf of clients or partners.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use a small number of trusted vendors to operate the Site and our business (e.g., Vercel for hosting, Google for analytics). These vendors access only the data necessary to perform their function and are contractually prohibited from using it for other purposes.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hickerson Consulting Group or others.
- Business transfer. If the business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction, with the same privacy commitments applying.
Data Retention
We retain contact information only as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected — typically the duration of a client relationship plus a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping. Analytics data is retained per the default retention settings of the respective platforms (typically 14 months for Google Analytics).
Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (such as booking platforms or social media profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies separately.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict its processing. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. EU/UK residents may have rights under the GDPR.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at jason@hickerson.co. We will respond within 30 days.
Children’s Privacy
This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
